The triad of water, forest and rocks: diverse forests, magnificent views, rock bastions that inspire the imagination, places steeped in legend. All this can be discovered on a natural and cultural history hike in the Weltenburger Enge, Hirschberg and Altmühlleiten nature reserve. The Weltenburger Enge is the only nature reserve in Bavaria to have been awarded the European Diploma. In February 2020, the core area of this protected area covering 197 hectares was designated as Bavaria's first National Natural Monument. The return journey can be organized individually, whether on foot, by Zille or cable ferry and boat back to Kelheim. Leader: Franziska Jäger.
