The Altmühltal Panorama Trail leads along the Altmühl, sunny juniper heaths and wildly romantic rocky landscapes - from Gunzenhausen to Kelheim. There are historic towns, unique castles and palaces as well as evidence of Roman and Celtic history to discover along the 200-kilometre route.
We have divided the Altmühltal Panorama Trail into 15 stages for you, which you can hike individually or in combination.

The Altmühltal-Panoramaweg hiking trail leads through several sections of nature and landscape conservation areas. To protect flora and fauna and for safety reasons due to its narrow width in places, a few designated sections are not suitable for bicycles (Art. 28 Para. 1 Bavarian Nature Conservation Act). As a cyclist, please follow the signs and be considerate of hikers on all sections of the trail.
