Transfers at Weltenburg Monastery, round trips through the Danube Gorge or trips to the "Danube Route I" hiking trail (exit at the Wipfelsfurt), especially for cyclists and hikers on the Altmühltal Panorama Trail and the Way of St. James.
Hikers and cyclists appreciate the opportunity to take a boat directly from Weltenburg Abbey. Normally, the barge drivers are guided by the sailing times of the passenger boats and the opening times of the monastery tavern. However, there are no fixed sailing times, which means that in rainy weather or if the boat is too busy, there may not be a barge on site. In this case, however, you can easily switch to the cable ferry, which is located approx. 600 m further upstream in the direction of Stausacker.
