Dear guests,
You are most welcome. Thank you for your interest in beautiful Kelheim (1st town charter 1181) and its surroundings. The original Danube with the Weltenburg Monastery and the Weltenburger Enge, as well as the Altmühltal with the proud castles and palaces around Riedenburg and Essing are well worth a visit. I will be happy to help you with the planning and accompany you and your group to explore the landscape by boat, by bike or simply on foot and enjoy the magnificent views, e.g. from the gallery of the Liberation Hall. The Celts were here, then the Romans, finally the Wittelsbachs as dukes and later as kings. They all left their mark on Kelheim. I would be delighted to show you the many traces of history and share my enthusiasm for this special landscape in the heart of Bavaria with you.
Dear guests,
I really appreciate your interest in the beautiful and old bavarian city of Kelheim and the stunning scenery around it. We are proud to present the Donau (danube) with the historic monastery Weltenburg and the Weltenburg gorge on our doorsteps. We enjoy the charming valley of the Altmühl with its proud castles and palaces surrounding the small cities of Riedenburg and Essing. I would love to show you and your party around, either by an excursion boat or afoot to breathe in the countryside and be amazed by the views from the gallery of our impressive liberation hall openend in 1863. There are plenty of traces from long gone eras to discover. The Celts, the Romans, the Wittelsbacher dukes and kings were all here and left lasting footprints to be enjoyed. I will be glad to share my passion for this exceptional gem with you!
