The German Limes Cycle Route leads us in the footsteps of the Romans along their impressive imperial frontier - the Limes
From wine-growing areas along the Main, over mountain ranges, through sleepy valleys and across plateaus, the cycle path connects the towns of Miltenberg and Regensburg. We cycle the route from Schamhaupten. The cycle path is often challenging and should be avoided by inexperienced cyclists. From Bad Gögging, the route is identical to the Danube Cycle Path to Regensburg and is pleasant to cycle. In Bad Gögging you can discover the Abusina Roman fort and the rebuilt Limes tower.
