Church tour

Length: 24.8 km

Beautiful, leisurely cycle tour through villages with their churches

First, we drive uphill through the Galgental valley to Keilsdorf. There you will find St. Stephen's Church from the 15th century. In Baiersdorf you can visit the Johannes-Baptista church and after a few kilometers you reach Maierhofen with its St. Sebastian's church. A new feature here is the "Painten mushroom nature trail". In Painten you can see a life-size crucifix, which was saved as the only reminder of the old church, which was destroyed in a fire in 1899. It can now be found in the new St. Georg church. A few forest sections then take you to Sausthal, where you can take a break in the cozy Wäscherhartl restaurant with the Danube oyster observatory behind it. Finally, you can enjoy a rapid descent through the Galgental valley before the tour ends at the Felsenhäusl with the prehistoric Felsenhäusl Museum.
