Fishing in Kelheim

The Abens, Altmühl, Danube and the Irnsinger and Mauern quarry ponds around Kelheim are an Eldorado for all fishing enthusiasts. The Kelheim District Fishing Association issues guest tickets for its waters and wishes all visitors "Petri Heil".

The Kelheim waters are rich in different species of fish. Perch and carp, catfish and zander, along with many other tasty aquatic creatures, can be found in the waters of the Kelheim District Fishing Association. Rare species such as huchen and Danube salmon also live in the Danube.

Guests also cast their lines in the midst of the often unspoiled natural landscape: Daily, weekly and monthly permits are available for various stretches of water.
