By Toutatis! Probably the most famous Celts from a village full of unyielding people have set off for the Altmühl this time.

In Alkimoennis, Asterix meets Alcmona, the Celtic goddess who gave the river its name – and invites visitors of all ages on an exciting journey into the world of the Celts.

Immerse yourself and your family in a long-gone era and discover the impressive Oppidum Alkimoennis on the Michelsberg. Here, history comes alive: encounter Celtic warriors, skilled artisans, and traveling merchants, and learn how people lived over 2,000 years ago.

Especially for children, there is a lot to discover and try out: they can grind grain themselves on a specially made hand-cranked mill, dress up as a Celt, and marvel at a Celtic chariot—an early ancestor of the tank. The exhibition, originally conceived by KeltenWelten e.V., was supplemented by the team at the Archaeological Museum of the City of Kelheim with models, original finds, vivid installations, and a lovingly designed Playmobil® world.

The offer is enriched by exciting guided tours, creative hands-on programs, hikes, and Actionbounds around the oppidum. A special highlight is the Celtic Festival on October 4th.
