Weltenburg Hiking Trail I: Danube Route

Idyllic hiking trail first along the Danube, past the former Franciscan church and the Klösterl hermitage. At the Bienenkorb rock, the path is no longer passable above a water level (Kelheim) of 420 (www.hnd.bayern.de). In the Wipfelsfurth, at the orchard meadow, the path leads over the high plateau to the long wall. Magnificent view of Weltenburg Abbey and the Danube gorge. Descent to the Danube. You can take the Danube ferry or the Zille from Stausacker to Weltenburg. No longer passable at high water from level 420.
