This picturesque hike along the Danube runs mostly along the riverbank. Along the way, you pass a former historical hermitage – the Klösterl. After an orchard meadow, the path leads up into the forest. Before the trail leads back down to the Danube, you can catch a beautiful view of the National Natural Monument. Arriving opposite the monastery, you cross over to Weltenburg Abbey using a traditional wooden boat (private provider, no fixed timetables) or the public cable ferry.

Translate: Please inquire beforehand whether the Rope ferry and traditional wooden boats are in operation. – In winter, crossing is not possible!
Flood: The path is closed during high water. Please check in advance about the current water level and pay attention to the local signage. In the event of high water (water level: approx. 385 cm), the path is impassable due to flooding!
