In the Klausen Caves near Essing, we discover the world of the hunters and gatherers of the Stone Age. Who were they? Which animals shared their habitat? And could Neanderthals still be around today?

Together we explore the fairytale forest and discover which fairies, dwarves and robbers live here. In the forest you can also discover the remains of a lost city and on the way we pass the „pillows of the fairies“, the mosses or the „bedspreads of the Celtic trolls“, the large-leaved ferns. Then we come across a mysterious place where people celebrated with their gods in prehistoric times. And of course we will have a picnic here, just like the Celts did more than 2,000 years ago. Who doesn't know Automatix, the blacksmith from the Asterix comics, who likes to start a fight over a few not-so-fresh fish or a certain bard's discordant tones. However, the Celtic blacksmiths are unlikely to have been quite so violent. Anyone who looks at the artistic and technically highly sophisticated everyday objects or weapons can see this for themselves.
Even better, of course, is to try it yourself. Thomas Dorsch offers a blacksmithing course for children and young people based on models from the Kelheim oppidum.
First, the basic techniques of blacksmithing are explained and then various forged items such as a Celtic key are produced using original finds from the Archaeological Museum in Kelheim. The course fee includes the provision of tools and materials.
